ABOUT FLORIDA COLLEGE
In
1946 Florida College opened its doors to the first student body,
and by 1954 it obtained Southern Association accreditation as
a liberal arts junior college. Today it continues in its dedication
to offering young people academic excellence in an atmosphere
conducive to moral and spiritual growth and an appreciation of
fundamental American ideals.
Dedicated to the aim of educating
the whole person, Florida College strives to develop young people
mentally, physically, socially, and spiritually. There exists
on campus an atmosphere of happiness and friendliness where young
people go about the daily business of getting an education in
an environment that encourages their moral and spiritual development
and emphasizes their importance as individuals.
The campus is located on the
banks of the beautiful Hillsborough River in the residential
community of Temple Terrace, just minutes from downtown Tampa.
We have the recreation, shopping, and cultural activities of
a large coastal city - with the safety and friendliness of a
small community.
